No sensible eating plan will result in instant weight loss. A steady weight loss of 1 to 2lbs per week is recommended in government health guidelines, which is a realistic, achievable goal for the majority of people. It's not unusual to see larger losses in the first few weeks of slimming, mainly due to the loss of body water and especially if you have a lot of weight to lose.
