Pop into any supermarket, cafe or bakery and it’s impossible to escape the fact that we’re now definitely in mince pie season. As delicious as these sweet, crumbly, fruit-filled pies are, they won’t help you get the Christmas weight loss you want. So we’ve cooked up a brand-new recipe – Slimming World baked oats… that taste just like mince pies!
Enjoy your mince pie baked oats as a filling festive breakfast or pop the kettle on and have them as a slimming-friendly treat with a cuppa. You could even make them for the big guy on Christmas Eve, if Santa’s watching his weight!
Slimming World mince pie baked oats recipe
serves 1
10 Syns per serving (deduct 7 Syns if using the oats as your Healthy Extra ‘b’ option)
ready in 45 minutes

What you need:
40g plain porridge oats
1 small egg
100g fat-free natural yogurt
15g dried sultanas
½ small apple, grated
zest of ½ orange
1 tsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp ground mixed spice
What you do:
1. Preheat your oven to 200°C/fan 180°C/gas 6.
2. Put all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Evenly divide the mixture between 3 holes of a non-stick muffin tin and bake for 35 minutes, until browned.
3. If you like, dust with icing sugar (1 level tsp is 1 Syn) and/or serve with squirty cream (2 level tbsp is ½ Syn).
